Green Smoothie: Avocado Lime Zinger

Green Smoothie - Avocado Lime Zinger | Kim D'Eon

This pretty green smoothie is ideal for anyone who loves a tart treat. The avocado makes it nice and creamy and the mint keeps it refreshing and light. I’ve included 2 limes for extra pucker, but if you find that too sharp, cut back on the lime.

Nutritionally, avocados are great in smoothies because they add a ton of fibre and healthy fats great for flushing the system and making your skin glow. They also pack more potassium than bananas to help regulate your sodium levels, which is great for nervous system and heart health. The mint, limes and kiwis in this green smoothie have fantastic levels of antioxidants and are super-high in vitamin C to name a few health benefits. The kiwi helps balance out the tangy lime flavour.

On top of all that both mint and ginger are fantastic digestive aids so this green smoothie will make your belly really happy.

Avocados go great in green smoothies or any smoothie for that matter especially if you’re looking for a creamy texture with less sugar than bananas.

The trick to getting pure ginger juice simply involves grating unpeeled ginger root on the smallest setting of a hand grater, taking the pulp and squeezing the juice out with your hand. Super healthy and loads of fun too (especially for little kiddies who can be on squeeze patrol).
